The Cart Shed
The Property
The Cart Shed lies at the end of a half mile of private track, surrounded by farmland and with panoramic views of the surrounding woodland. It’s seclusion attracting a variety of wildlife including badgers, deer, owls, song birds, birds of prey and the occasional wild boar.
A sliding door from the patio leads into the main lounge area, with it’s two sofas, wood burning stove, TV with surround sound and DVD player. This door also gives a panoramic view of the surrounding farmland and the spectacular Wyastone Leys building, the birth place of the CD.
The dining table extends to accommodate 4 adults. Highchair is available on request as is a travel cot, but please bring your own sheets and quilt.
The kitchen is well equipped for your self catering holiday, with an electric built-in double oven, gas hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer, as well as essentials such as toaster, kettle, microwave, cutlery and crockery. For your safety, there is a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid kit.
Why not make a cosy evening and enjoy the log burner, a movie or one of our many board games.
Main Bedroom
The ample sized bedroom is furnished with a king size ottoman bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables.
Second Bedroom
This has two three foot bunk beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
The bathroom is a fully tiled ‘wet room’ with toilet, hand basin and shower.
The parking spaces lead down a paved slope to the private west facing patio, with it’s charcoal barbecue and outdoor furniture, ideal for relaxing.
There is a secure area for the safe storage of cycles, prams, canoes or any other leisure items.

Deposit and cancellation
A deposit for 20% of the total cost is payable when booking.

Check-in and check-out
Check in: Your accommodation is available from 4.00 pm on the day of arrival. We would appreciate it if you could phone or email a couple of days before your stay to give us some idea of your arrival time so that there is someone to welcome you, once here you will be given a key so you can come and go as you please.
Check out: We ask that you please vacate the accommodation by 10.00 am unless prior arrangements have been made.
Do you accept pets?
Dogs are by negotiation as we have our own complete male dogs.
Dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture. Dogs must not be left unattended in the property. Please bring dog basket, cage or blankets for your dog’s.
Smoking
The Cart Shed is strictly a no smoking including vaping. Smoking and vaping is permitted outside, providing cigarette butts are disposed of responsibly.
Can you tell me more about the property
The property is a converted farm shed, alongside the owners main property, and is situated near the end of a unpaved and sometimes bumpy track. We would not recommend driving along the track in very low slung sports cars.
WiFi at the cottage is good and mobile phone reception is generally quite good on EE, other service providers can be less reliable. Please note food delivery services such as ‘Just Eat’ or ‘Deliveroo’ will not come out to the property.
Some Taxis may not come out to us however, ‘5 Star Taxis‘ in Monmouth will do. Their number is 07300 355888.
With the main A40 being just the other side of the river, distant road noise can be heard when sitting outside of the property.
BBQ and log burner
You are very welcome to use the outdoor BBQ or the Log Burner in the lounge. You will need to purchase your own charcoal but there are plenty of free logs for the log burner. If you do use them, please leave them in a condition you would expect to find them.
